-1.5GB of Disk Space
-256MB of available RAM
-800 X 600 24-bit color display
-CD-Rom drive
-QuickTime 6.3 or greater

Intel P3 800mhz proc or higher
Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, or XP

 G3 or G4
 Mac OSX v10.1 or later

The Light Stone:

On my Desk.

The Light Stone is the device you use to play the event sequences
in the game. When you place your fingers in the sensors it will detect
your HRV and your SCL

Your HRV is your (Heart Rate Variability) it is calculated from the differences in heart rate from one beat to another. No two intervals are exactly the same, and you need a device more sophisticated than just taking your pulse to determine it.

Your SCL or ( Skin Conductivity Level) measures sweat gland activity. Increased perspiration indicates increased autonomic nervous system activation ( or someone holding a gun to your head) which is associated with increased energy both positive, like excitement, and negative, like nervousness ( like the nervousness from someone holding a gun to your head).

After reading about this in the manual and knowing that some of the challenges in this game involve relaxing or controlling your body, I thought "hey a great way to increase the difficulty naturally would be to like drink 15 cups of coffee! hah then try to relax!, dont even need a difficulty setting."

Trials and Testing:

The Light Stone plugs into your computer via USB and the sensors plug into the Light Stone via what looks like a PS/2 plug. The cords are long enough to reach anywhere on your desk and the Light Stone unit itself looks cool.

I was concerned that with sensitive sensors like these it would be difficult to play the game because what if your just sweaty? or did drink 10 cups of coffee. Well I didnt see these suggestions in the manual but if you do these, youll find the sensors wont do anything weird.

Wash your hands before you put on the sensors.

Try not to Drink any caffeinated beverages before playing.

CALM DOWN.

The HVR sensor is the most sensitive it seems and if you move around or shake it while you are playing it will not register your heart rate correctly. You MUST sit still and hold your hand still while playing.
They included a system option on the menu which allows your to monitor the readings of the SCL and HVR sensors so that you can adjust it on your hand for the best reading.

Glowing Surprise:

This adds awesome geek aesthetic value, when I plugged in the Light Stone, the bottom of it glows bright blue, which goes perfect with the blue lights on my computer!

They went to great lengths to make this product cool
and they succeeded.

Whats the game like?

The game itself is actually pretty awesome, you wander around in the surrealistic world completeing different challenges. Along the way you learn breathing techniques, how to use your imagination better and generally how to control your body to increase your health and peace of mind.

To some guys the game will seem kinda wimpy because your not blowing heads off or stomping through zombie guts,(not that i dont mind stomping through zombie guts once in a while) but if you are a true gamer, health or exercise freak, inquisitive person, intelligent individual you will enjoy this game. It really shows you how fun it can be just to relax. Its great to play before bedtime!

As you wander around, different events happen. You meet different characters who ask you to help them or you have to solve puzzles. In most of the events you use the Light Stone energy translator to complete the challenge, by either relaxing, or getting excitied or imagining things. Now it cant read brain waves, but when you use your imagination, your body will react accordingly.

The effects of what you do on the screen are awesome, Its a very unique feeling when you levitate rocks or a ball by slowing your heart rate. One of the coolest things I did was starting a fire by relaxing very deeply and using a breathing technique.

My only complaint with the game is that sometimes navigating the world can be slow because when you click to move through some areas it plays a CG video everytime you move through that area, But most of the videos are short and it goes with the relaxing theme of the game.

Next some final comments and the conclusion! check it out!

Final Comments & Conclusion:

Also Included:

Another thing I wanted to mention is that with the whole package came a neat companion guide that has a story that goes along with your adventures.

Also included is a CD with music from the Wild Divine band. Its a kind of new age , relaxing soft rock music.

You get two CDs for installing on PC or MAC.

The instructions are written well and include a troubleshooting section.

Conclusion:

Overall the Journey to The WildDivine is a awesome product, it takes an original unique idea and puts it into play with a good looking item, better than average performance and a type of unusual fun gameplay you wont be able to find anywhere else. I personally rate this among the best of gadgets ive seen.

Id like to thank The WildDivine Team for giving us the chance to review a great new product and everyone involved with The WildDivine Project for their hard work.
