The KAPOWWE Company provided us with the TM M16A2 for review.
It is an AEG, "Automatic Electric Gun", it fires small plastic BBs.
These guns are not designed for killing, they are designed for playing a

Let's see what it can do!

(Note this is not a comparison of airsoft guns, this is a review for people
who don't know what airsoft guns are or who want it for other reasons.)

IN THE BOX

 The KAPOWWE Company ships their items off very quickly, I was pleased when it arrived within a few days.

 UPS is usually pretty good around here and does not damage the packaging of items too often. However this time it was rainy out and they got the box all wet and nasty. Therefore I did not take a picture of the shipping box which is in the garbage can now. =)

 Fortunately, the folks over at Kapowwe packed it very nicely with peanuts and packaging so that the retail box containing the Tokyo Marui M16A2 was not damaged or wet!

 Here we see the M16A2 inside its retail box. Notice Tokyo Marui's form fitting packaging, the best kind to protect your product during shipping.

 Notice that the "Colt" trademarks are burnt off the gun? That is because it would be illegal to have them on there, as it is not made by "Colt". Tokyo Marui and the other Airsoft Gun manufacturers do a Very good job of producing 1:1 scale replicas of everything from Western cowboy weaponry, WWII weapons up to modern day stuff like this M16.

 Below is the rear end of the rail, rear site and adjustment wheel(all functional). Also the standard 68 RND magazine.

Now we will take a look at the amazing realism the TM M16A2.

DESIGN & FEATURES

 Taking the gun out of the packaging I was surprised at the weight of it, later on measuring the weight I found it to be 6.8 lbs, almost 7 with the battery in. That is fairly close to the real M16A2 which weighs in at 8.79 lbs.

 Closely examining the exterior of the gun shows that much of it is made of metal with realistic markings. The parts that are not metal are made of ABS plastic. In person it looks very close to the real thing. Tokyo Marui guarantees that size and scale are 1:1 with the real steel M16A2.

 The Barrel, Butt Plate, Bolt Hatch, Front Sight, Rear Sight, Charging Handle, Trigger, Select Fire Switch, Sling Swivels, Magazine Release and Magazine are all Metal. The majority of all the internal parts are metal also.

 Below you will see that the charging handle is functional but only serves to open the bolt hatch. The fake bolt slides back to reveal the Hop-Up adjustment wheel. The Hop-Up is a mechanism that puts backspin on the BBs when fired and affects your "vertical accuracy".

 As I said, the Tokyo Marui M16A2 is 1:1 so it pretty much has all the external features of the real M16A2; Fully adjustable sights, rail for mounting scopes and night vision, compatible with standard bi-pods, sling mounts, etc.

 Here you can see the top of the 68 round magazine that is included with the gun. Also the "Mag Well", the place you slap that magazine in to lock and load!

 Below you will see the metal butt plate and a view of what you will see looking down the sights of the Marui M16A2 ( I am getting too lazy to type the "Tokyo" so you will have to just remember its Tokyo Marui alright? You got that? Good!)

 Just FYI that little door looking thing on the butt plate opens up to reveal the spot where your battery goes.

How do you operate it?

Simply put, right out of the box, you charge your battery that you bought separately. After your battery is charged, you put it in the Butt of the gun and connect it to the power plug. You utilize the loading rod to load the BBs into the 68rnd Magazine or any other Mags that you bought. You place the clip into the mag well, turn the fire selector to semi or auto and then let loose a barrage of BBs!
